Jenny Christofidis is an Accredited Family Law Specialist. Jenny has a broad practice in all areas of Family Law.
Jenny has specialised in dealing with difficult issues which arise from the breakdown of relationships. Whether the parties have been married or living in de facto relationships (domestic relationships) or same sex relationships, whether the issues involve children's or property matters, she offers pragmatic and cost effective solutions.
Jenny also represents clients who require legal advice and representation in criminal law matters ranging from Magistrates' Court charges to complex fraud trials in the County Court of Victoria.
Accredited Specialist
Jenny has particular expertise in this often emotive and challenging area of law. Her expertise has been recognised by the Law Institute of Victoria (" LIV ") as she is a qualified accredited specialist. To become an accredited specialist is no mean feat. As a lawyer, Jenny must have practiced substantially in Family Law for at least five years and have passed the examination process set by the LIV. Jenny continues to undertake various courses to update her qualifications.
Collaborative Lawyer
Jenny has also trained as a Collaborative Lawyer. Collaborative law is an innovative method of resolving Family Law disputes which focuses on negotiation and encourages participants to make decisions that are of mutual benefit. This process can be used to resolve some Family Law disputes in a way that avoids the stress and expense of litigation.
Jenny has undertaken various Mediation courses and is able to organise and address issues through the mediation process if collaboration if not suitable.
