What makes us different? | |||||
Every law firm says they are different, but let's face it, you could interchange the names on the letterheads and websites and nobody would notice. They all talk about how bright their people are, how closely they work with their clients, how excellent their advice is and what great results they get. At Anderson Rice we believe all those things are the ticket-to-ride essentials. They are the minimum you need to be able to serve corporate clients. But they don't make you different. Three things make Anderson Rice truly different: our organisational structure, our culture of customer service and our world's-best-practice technology. We are organised like a business not like a law firm. We have flat management structures with wide spans of control. Our management, organisation and office space are designed to increase efficiency and reduce overheads. We don't have a corporate art collection and if you visit our offices (we prefer to come to you) you will not be served hand ground Brazilian coffee by dedicated waiting staff. Our culture is dominated by a customer service ethic. Our goal is to find commercially sensible solutions to our clients' problems. We measure our people by their clients' satisfaction not by the number of chargeable units they bill. Our cross industry experience and practical business knowledge means we can produce creative solutions, crafted in an imaginative and relevant way. We strive to get the result our client wants within their budget. Solicitors and paralegals solve problems together in small, flexible teams equipped with the talent, tools and resources to serve our client's best interests. Our teams are focused, empowered, creative and accountable. Our technology is world class. Most law firms think that having word processing software and an internet connection is all you need to operate. We think of ourselves as savvy business people as well as savvy lawyers. By offering ourselves as a pilot customer in Australia for an international legal software house we have obtained an integrated technology suite that would only be affordable to the world's largest firms. With this technology toolset we can introduce processes and process controls that not only increase our efficiency but also increase the standard of our work product. For our clients this means they get more consistent quality legal product , in more responsive timeframes and at a cost that can rarely be matched by more traditional law firms. |

| Where are we? | ||||||
| We have one office in Melbourne, Australia. From this base we practice law in each state of Australia and New Zealand. We are accustomed to servicing the needs of international corporations doing business in Australasia and have solicitors fluent in Spanish, Chinese and English. | ||||||

| Where have we come from? | ||||||
| Anderson Rice was founded in 1934. Since then we have shunned almost every convention of law practice in Australia preferring to take our own route to customer-defined success. We do not aspire to have thousands of fee earners. We have about 15. We do not aspire to have a top-heavy partnership structure. We have just 6 partners. We do not aspire to have an office in every city of Australia. We make use of modern technology to service our clients in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland all from our offices in Melbourne. We have rejected the traditional path that most other law firms take. Instead we have designed a modern law firm founded on the single principle of customer service. Anderson Rice is a business and we are proud to run it like our clients run their businesses and not like a law firm. | ||||||
